Your iPhone needs to be on a current version of iOS. TOMA needs iOS 17 or later, and it behaves best on the newest version available for your phone. Open Settings, then General, then Software Update. A camera that will not open, a viewfinder that is black, or a screen that will not scroll is almost always an iPhone a few versions behind.
Update TOMA itself. Open the App Store, tap your picture in the top corner, and pull the list down. If TOMA is waiting there, update it before anything else.
Photographs upload in the background, and they need signal to finish. A photograph you have kept is saved on your phone straight away and sent when the connection allows. If the counter at the top of the camera shows photographs still waiting, stay in the venue, keep the app open, and give it a moment. Nothing is lost while it waits.
Check the code and the times. An event that has not opened yet, or that has already finished, will not accept anyone. Neither will a code typed with an O in place of a zero. Ask whoever invited you to send it again rather than reading it off a screenshot.
Ran out of photographs? Every event has an allowance set by whoever is running it. If you are the organiser, you can add more from the event screen at any time, including while the event is running. If you are a guest, the organiser is the person to ask.
How long photographs are kept
A free event is kept for seven days. A paid event is kept for twelve months.
The organiser holds the link to the finished set and decides what is shared and who sees it. What reaches the people at an event, and when, is theirs to set.
At the end of that period every photograph in the event is deleted permanently, whether or not it was selected. Everyone receiving a set is told the date and asked to save their own copy. Please do, because it cannot be recovered afterwards.
What the organiser is responsible for
TOMA supplies the tools. Everything that happens in the room belongs to whoever is running the event.
The organiser is responsible for who is invited, for everything captured at their event, and for what is done with it afterwards. That includes making sure the people there know that photographs are being taken, having a lawful reason to be taking them, and making sure that anybody who does not wish to be photographed is not.
An organiser running an event for a client, a brand or a venue is responsible for that relationship and for the content once it leaves TOMA.
We supply the app. We do not attend events, do not direct what is photographed, and are not responsible for the content captured at them or for how it is used.
